MATCH Process

Application Review | Funding Process

Application Review Process

  • Applications for MATCH Montreal may be submitted starting September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2016.
  • Review of completed applications will begin September 17, 2015 and will continue on a rolling basis based on the received date of the completed application
  • Grant notifications will be issued to the donor and school within 6-8 weeks from the date the completed application is submitted to MATCH. Submitting an application prior to the deadline date of August 31, 2016 does NOT guarantee consideration for a matching grant.

Completed applications will be reviewed by representatives of MATCH and all decisions of eligibility will be at the sole discretion of MATCH. The determinations of MATCH shall be final, binding and conclusive as to all questions and decisions of donor eligibility, school eligibility and grants.

Schools or donors that do not meet the eligibility requirements, or do not adhere to the guidelines of MATCH will not be granted. Notifications will be issued to the donor and school in the event that the application is deemed ineligible.

Submission of an application to MATCH does not obligate the donor to make the proposed gift. While we hope that a donor will make the proposed gift even without the matching funds, MATCH understands that some donors might choose not to make their gifts in the absence of matching funds.

Funding Process

Matching grants will be paid once donors and schools are notified of the award and payment documentation of the approved grant is verified by MATCH. In order to verify payment of a gift, the MATCH program requires a copy of a canceled check (both sides), the wire receipt for the amount of the grants or other proof deemed satisfactory by MATCH. Matching funds will be issued 4-6 weeks after MATCH receives the payment verification documentation.

Gifts must be cash (checks or wire transfers) or transfers of publicly traded stock. Credit card payments, illiquid stocks, annuities, Israel Bonds, or other slowly maturing instruments are not allowed.  Gifts that are made in the form of tangible goods such as Torah scrolls, land, computer equipment or any other items given in place of cash or stock cannot receive matching funds.

Please review the detailed Documentation and Verification procedures for more information.

All checks for matching funds will be issued by February 15, 2017.
